Reimbursement for Transportation of Household Goods

The Controller, Department of Medicine and Surgery, Veterans Administration, requested an advance decision concerning claims by employees for transportation charges on shipments of household goods under an authorization to ship by Government bill of lading (GBL). If an employee elects to ship part by GBL and part by U-Haul and shipment by GBL is cheaper, reimbursement would be limited to the amount that shipment would cost if it were made in one lot on GBL.
