Payment for Annual Leave

The Controller, Veterans Administration, requested reconsideration of a settlement authorizing payment of an additional 40 hours of annual leave for an employee. An audit of time and leave records for the employee at retirement revealed an alleged overstatement of 40 hours of annual leave balance, and action was taken to reduce the leave balance. Review of the evidence disclosed a lack of adequate documentation to show that the claimant used the leave; the prior settlement should be processed for payment of the leave.
