Highlights

A retired military member appealed a settlement determining his indebtedness to the Government in the amount of $1,053.79 for shipping his household effects incident to a permanent change of station. The money represented a charge for the cost of shipping excess weight. The member contended that the excess weight was attributable to wooden crates used at that time on an experimental basis. The evidence did not show that the Air Force determination was erroneous, and the agency's disallowance of the claim was sustained.
