Waiver of Indebtedness

A federal employee requested reconsideration of a determination denying her request for waiver of an overpayment of lump-sum leave incident to her resignation. The employee, who was erroneously paid for 230 hours instead of her actual leave balance of 23 hours, and who had already received a check refunding her civil service retirement contributions, was at fault in not inquiring as to the correctness of the amount of payment. Since the employee was not free of fault in this matter, the denial of the waiver request was sustained.
