Highlights

M. G. Sorensen, Disbursing Officer, Marine Corps Air Station, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, requested a decision as to whether a Marine Corps member could be paid station allowances on behalf of his dependents who moved to Hawaii incident to his transfer to restricted duty overseas. Since such a move may be viewed as having a connection with the member's duty assignment, the Joint Travel Regulations may be amended to authorize station allowances in such cases. This member's claim may not be paid, however, because current regulations clearly prohibit it.
