Actual Subsistence Expenses from Constructive Travel in High Rate Geographical Area

The Acting Managing Director, Interstate Commerce Commission, requested a decision on employee's voucher for transportation expenses arising from temporary duty. Reimbursement for first day expenses in non-high-rate area was allowed only for per diem. Day of return expenses must be same as for first day. Reimbursement for lodging can be made only at single occupancy rate, not one-half of double occupancy rate. Taxicab and commuter train fares may be reimbursed to extent they do not exceed cost of authorized rental car.
