Compensation of Members of Regional Fishery Management Councils

A certifying officer requested a decision as to whether voting members of Regional Fishery Management Councils are entitled to per diem compensation. Per diem compensation is available to Council members who are not employed by federal, state, or local governments. Those who receive compensation from any such government during the period of Council membership are not entitled to compensation.
