Highlights

A decision was requested regarding payment of a claim for a portion of an employee's temporary quarters allowance which was withheld by the administrative office. The employee's entitlement to temporary quarters allowance incident to a permanent change of station was not affected by his early departure from his old station and subsequent early arrival at his new duty station. The employee would be entitled to temporary quarters allowance for the 3 days he spent visiting nearby cities between the time he arrived at his new station and the time he reported for duty in the absence of any indication that the trip caused an unwarranted extension of the period in which he occupied temporary quarters.
