An advance decision was requested as to whether a retired Government employee could be reimbursed for expenses incurred in the sale of his former residence at his old duty station. Although the employee voluntarily retired from Government service 4 months prior to the final settlement on the sale of his residence at his old station, he was entitled to reimbursement of the real estate expenses if the sale was completed within the required time period since he completed the 12 months of service required by his transportation agreement and since a transferred employee's right to reimbursement of real estate expense continues after the date of voluntary retirement.
