Reimbursement of Incidental Real Estate Expenses

A Federal employee requested reconsideration of a settlement disallowing his claim for reimbursement of a fee for inspection of the general physical condition of a residence incident to his purchase of a home at his new duty station. The claim may not be authorized for payment since the evidence indicated that the inspection was not a required service incident to the purchase transaction. The portion of the fee already reimbursed to the employee should be refunded to the agency by the claimant.
