Reimbursement of Legal Fees Incident to Relocation

An advance decision was requested regarding an employee's claim for certain expenses involved in the sale of his home at his old duty station incident to his transfer. The employee, who reported to his new duty station before settlement for the sale of his residence at his old duty station occurred, may be reimbursed for the cost of preparing a power of attorney that was required because of his inability to attend the settlement. The employee may also be reimbursed for the attorney's fee for conducting the settlement and acting as an escrow agent.
