A decision was requested concerning an employee's claims for travel expenses for commuting to his residence on weekends after a transfer of duty station. Since the employee is in a travel status a majority of the time, he may be reimbursed for mileage from the airport to his residence at headquarters and between his official duty station and his temporary duty station. However, he is not entitled to per diem while on temporary duty because his temporary duty station is within commuting distance from his office.
