An advance decision was requested regarding payment of an employee's claim for expenses incurred incident to taking an exam to qualify as an Accredited Rural Appraiser. Exams which are not an integral part of a course of instruction are not within the definition of training contained in applicable statutes. Therefore, government reimbursement of the costs of an exam leading to the certification of a Government employee is not permitted by terms of the Government Employees' Training Act.
