Highlights

An advance decision was requested with regard to payment of a claim for transportation of a mobile home and household goods incident to an employee's transfer to Alaska. The employee transported his mobile home to Seattle, Washington, where it was determined that it did not meet Alaskan specifications. The employee then stored the mobile home and completed shipment of his household goods to Alaska on a government bill of lading. Credit should be allowed for shipment of the mobile home to Seattle. The employee was not entitled to further allowance under the authorization for shipment of household goods on the government bill of lading. The total payment under both authorizations may not exceed the cost which would have been incurred by the government had either method been used for the entire distance.
