Reimbursement of Relocation Expenses Incident to Permanent Change of Station

An advance decision was requested regarding Johnnie Hill, Jr.'s claim for reimbursement of an attorney's fee paid in lieu of closing costs in the purchase of a residence at the employee's new duty station incident to his transfer. Reimbursement was not allowed since payment of attorney's fees in lieu of closing costs was not authorized by applicable regulations, and the amount in question included legal costs for which payment was not authorized under the Federal Travel Regulations.
