Highlights

A decision was requested regarding an employee's claim for reimbursement of real estate expenses and miscellaneous expenses incident to the termination of an Intergovernmental Personnel Act assignment and a permanent change of station. The employee was not entitled to reimbursement for any of the expenses under the Intergovernmental Personnel Act since its provisions did not provide for such allowances. However, the expenses could be allowed incident to the permanent change of a station since the IPA assignment in another city was a temporary duty assignment. The real estate expenses were not for reimbursement since the residence sold at the site of the temporary duty assignment was not located at the old permanent duty station. The miscellaneous expense allowance was allowable since the employee relocated his residence.
