Highlights

A former employee appealed a settlement which denied his claim for reimbursement of real estate expenses incurred in selling his residence in Alaska incident to the abolition of his position there and his return to the continental United States for separation by retirement. The claim was properly denied since pertinent statutes and regulations permit such reimbursement only when there is a permanent change of duty station, and return from Alaska for a purpose other than assuming a new Government position did not constitute a permanent change of station.
