Highlights

A decision was requested concerning payment of an employee's claim for travel costs incurred due to an overnight stop while on temporary duty travel. The claim for the rest stop costs was properly deducted from the employee's claim since Federal Travel Regulations do not provide for rest stops, regardless of the length of travel, when travel is within the continental United States, and GAO has never approved rest stops unless travel during normal periods of rest was involved.
