Highlights

An advance decision was requested involving the amount of per diem payable incident to an evacuation when an Air Force member's family goes to a designated place and resides in a two bedroom apartment in the basement of the member's uncle's house. No entitlement to per diem exists in Joint Travel Regulations incident to an evacuation. Regulations provide that, when residence-type quarters are occupied at a designated place, the per diem allowance will terminate. In the case in question, the residence-type quarters were occupied.
