Highlights

A Department of Energy (DOE) employee claimed reimbursement for per diem and local transportation expenses incident to an extended temporary duty assignment. GAO held that DOE should reimburse the employee, because it properly extended his temporary duty assignment, despite the overall length of the assignment and the employee's subsequent permanent assignment to the same duty station. Accordingly, the claim was allowed.
