Highlights

A Navy officer requested a decision as to whether three Navy employees could be reimbursed mileage expenses they incurred to obtain meals while at their temporary duty station. GAO held that the claims were not allowable as a necessary travel expense, since adequate restaurant facilities were available in the immediate vicinity of the temporary duty station. Accordingly, the claims for reimbursement were denied.
