Congressional Review Act Reports
Pursuant to 5 U.S.C. § 801(a)(2)(A), GAO provides a report to the committees of jurisdiction of both Houses of Congress on major rules proposed by a federal agency within 15 days of the receipt of a copy of each rule at GAO or publication in the Federal Register, whichever is later. GAO also maintains a publicly available database of information on major rules and on nonmajor rules for which reports have not been written.
