Agency Comments

We received written comments on a draft of this report from the Secretary of Commerce, who transmitted NOAA's comments. The department agreed with our recommendations and identified plans to implement them. For example, the department stated that NOAA will develop a plan for transitioning to a single satellite that leverages existing contingency agreements with its international partners. In addition, the department stated that NOAA will document a process to define and prioritize the requirements of other federal agencies and provide these users with updates on GOES-R program status and changes. The department's comments are provided below.
