Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute Methodology Committee
Conflicts of Interest Information
Section 6301(h)(4) of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) requires the Comptroller General to disclose conflicts of interest in appointing members of the Methodology Committee on GAO’s Web site.
Section 6301(a)(3) of PPACA defines “conflict of interest” as: “[A]n association, including a financial or personal association, that have the potential to bias or have the appearance of biasing an individual’s decision in matters related to the Institute or the conduct of activities under this section.”
Below are the associations of members of the Methodology Committee appointed by the Comptroller General that fit within the definition of a “conflict of interest” specified by PPACA.
Notes:
- Personal Associations includes associations reported by the Board member or their spouse.
- Financial Associations includes interests held by the Board member’s spouse or minor children.
